Saturday - Lori's Wedding
L and I woke up and had a little quiet time before everyone else got up and moving around. I hoped M would sleep in but she was up by 8am. Mom made us egg bake for breakfast and T, the girls and I made it out of the house by 10:30am. At the church M got her hair done by a couple of Lori's friends and as she was sitting so still I did her finger nails and toe nails. Then they even put a little makeup on her. She looked and felt just like a princess. While she was getting her hair done they were asking her about her favorite colors and if she liked Barbies, etc. Then they asked if she liked her little sister and if she helped do things for her and she replied, "I do most of the work". I had to bite my tongue to keep from laughing. She said it very matter of factly - it was so cute. We went to BK for a quick lunch before getting M dressed for pictures at 1pm. She did really well - not all the pictures showed her true smile but once she and Daddy started telling everyone knock-knock jokes the whole wedding party broke out laughing. Austin did really well also, taking care of M and checking to see how L was doing. The two of them did an excellent job of passing out bubbles to everyone on their way into the church also. L was awake all morning and afternoon so when I fed her right before the ceremony I thought she was out cold but she woke up just in time to see everyone walk in. M & Austin walked in and she stood up front great. Then when the bridal party sat down she sat on her little chair by Lisa and she took her shoes off (she had white anklets on, so no one could tell). Then when they stood back up front again M came and sat with us until it was almost over and she stood by Austin and walked out with him. As soon as we got out of the church she wanted the flowers out of her hair but it still looked good. Not much else you can ask for from a 3 year old. In the very short distance from the church to the reception M fell asleep in the car, I felt really bad about waking her up but she rested on Daddy's lap until the bride and groom arrived. She heard the music as they entered the room and jumped up and thought it was time to dance. She had pink marshmallow/whip cream salad and frosting for supper. Good thing we got some protein in her earlier. The sugar did the trick - she was ready to dance all night. She and Austin had so much fun together. M danced with everyone, did the chicken dance, the hokie pokie, slow danced with Mom and Dad, etc. You could tell the later it got the more tired she was but she kept right on going. We finally had to carry her out at 11pm. She talked the whole way to Grandma's just to keep herself awake. Once we got all the bobby pins out of her hair, Dad layed down with her and she was out in minutes. L slept good all night too - I think we wore her out also.
